Secondary
There are multiple ways for adults of Webequie First Nation to obtain their Secondary School Diploma. Please read below and reach out to the program coordinators to see what program is best for you.
Keewaytinook Internet High School (KIHS)
KIHS offers online education from grades 9-12 for students to obtain their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
People over 18 doing PLAR can register any time up until the last month of school.
For those under 18 and for adults choosing to take regular courses, the cut dates for each term are:
Term 1 – September 28
Term 2 – November 23
Term 3 – February 1
Term 4 – April 19

Wahsa
Wahsa offers courses from grades 9-12. Wahsa courses are Ontario Ministry of Education approved credit courses offered through teleconferencing, internet and radio. Students receive instruction, instructional packages, and tutoring through local and central support systems.

PLAR
Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition (PLAR) is a program for mature students that assesses life and work experiences and offers courses to contribute to an Ontario Secondary School Diploma
As a mature student it is possible to get up to 26 equivalent credits and you may only have to complete your final 4 credits to graduate with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. In order to be eligible to apply for PLAR you must:
- be at least 18 years of age on or before December 31st of the school year in which you register at an adult credit granting site
- be out of regular day school programming for at least 10 consecutive months before registering for credit courses at the adult credit granting facility
- have less than 26 credits on your transcript
